Garmin sports watches now provide a power figure for running, measured in watts. For Crickles users who have this enabled, NormPower now appears for runs on the Activities page and, assuming that heart rate data is also available, runs with power appear on the Effort Spots page.

Garmin note that athletes who both run and cycle will find that the power numbers reported for runs are typically significantly higher than those for bike rides. At the moment run and ride power numbers both contribute to the power curve on the Sustainable Levels page. Cyclists who also run will find this to be an unwelcome distortion. I will therefore remove run power numbers from the Sustainable Levels power curve while leaving run power data on the Activities and Effort Spots pages.

Once the change has been implemented this post will be updated to reflect the fact.
